Your PM Routine can be…
something of a silver bullet. Not only does it help maximize your evenings but it can help set up the next day for success.
You may be reading this saying to yourself “after dinner I’m shot. There’s no way I can be productive at that time of night”. Well you don’t have to! It all comes down to priorities. This is why Elon Musk has different priorities compared to the rest of us. No one is holding a gun to his head saying you have to develop all of these world changing companies or I’ll shoot….
With that being said, the PM Routine can be used however you see fit. For me, I found three use cases that work quite well.
- Recharge
I like to make sure that I’m taking care of my body. I’ve had a long day and put in a ton of work. In the past I’ve experimented with taking melatonin and blue blockers, as well as taking epsom salt baths. Now all I need is a simply health tea with some ginger, turmeric and other healthy goodies.
- Connect
Sometimes the night is really the only time I have to spend with my wife. While it may not be true quality time, at least I’m not in the office until the second we go to bed. Just a few minutes of watching some bad T.V. together is all we need.
- Leverage
A huge portion of my PM routine is leveraging the hours that I don’t have too many responsibilities left in the day. This is where I time block a 2 hour window to work on the business and get things accomplished.
So the PM routine can be used however you need it just like the other three fundamental routines.
