It’s that time!

The first quarter is up and this is an important time for a few reasons.

Obviously it’s the time to check in and see if you’ve accomplished your quarterly goals!

Maybe more importantly, it’s a great reminder of how time can play tricks on us. While one year seems like a long time, 3 months can often fly by in a blink of an eye. This is a problem for us over achievers.

So if you’re someone who uses the Ritual Design planner, this is pretty straight forward. After you finish your 13th week, you’ll be presented two easy pages that help you execute a quarterly review.

But if you’re not familiar with the Ritual Design planner, no worries.

Today I’m going to walk you through how to wrap up your quarter and keep track of you progress.

This falls into two different categories.

  1. Tracking
  2. Reflecting

First we want to list out all out goals we set out to accomplish in the beginning of the quarter. If you didn’t actually complete all the goals that’s ok. There is a place to record the percentage you’ve made on the specific goals. So instead of a Pass/Fail situation, you can give yourself the credit your deserve and record the progress on each goal.

Next we want to do the same with Domains. This is where you’ll record and update your scores for your domains and draw your new domain wheel.

Lastly, you’ll take some time to reflect on the good and the bad…

  • What was your biggest wins of the quarter?
  • What are some things you will start/keep doing?
  • What are some things you will stop doing?

So while it’s a fairly easy review process, it’s effective in helping me execute a quarterly review. We get down to the root of figuring out what worked and what didn’t. Of course the next step would be to figure out your next quarter’s goals and domains you’d like to work on.
