If you are a parent…

you’re going to want to stick around for this. I’m sure at some point in bringing up your children you’ve felt lost, overwhelmed and inadequate. I know I did from the moment I picked my baby girl up off the warming table. I realized….uh oh….she’s coming HOME with us!

As she’s gotten older, I’ve felt the need to make sure I was doing right by her both cognitively and emotionally. I want to make sure that I’m setting up her days for success and I figured that would only come with…you guessed it….a routine.

Our guest today is Jessica Irwin from Rooted In Routine. Jessica is a pediatric occupational therapist, a childhood routine expert and most importantly, a mom (the proof is in the pudding)! She has worked to establish routines for toddlers in numerous disciplines ranging from daycares, preschools, elementary schools and private practice.

Today on the show, Jessica and I have a wide ranging conversation digging into all the aspects behind how we can establish routines for toddlers and young children. We discuss…

  • The science behind why children crave certainty
  • The details behind sleep and nap time routines
  • What to do when a routine is not going according to plan
  • The ever increasing demands by the education system that inhibits time for play

You can find all about Jessica and how she can help you at Rooted In Routine
